Food Safety and Quality Assurance (FSQ) Technician
Classification: Non-Exempt Salary Range: $18.00 – $22.00 Reports to: FSQ Supervisor Date: November 2023
Job Description We seek an FSQ Technician responsible for reviewing quality assurance-related documentation and processes to ensure compliance with all applicable health and safety agencies’ regulations and training employees on those policies.
Essential Functions
Coordinate activities with regulatory agents such as the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
Prepare and directly manage third-party customer audits.
Review food safety processes and procedures.
Oversee inspection of incoming raw materials and outgoing finished goods to ensure the highest quality of products are delivered to customers.
Initial and ongoing training of the employees on policies and procedures.
Daily observations of production processes from preparation to packaging.
Conduct weekly evaluation of products and ingredients (e.g., Chef Tables).
Complete necessary internal and external microbiological testing, such as In-house ATP, In-house Listeria spp., Pro-clean (Allergen) and Listeria spp (external lab). Laboratory testing includes environmental and finish product.
Previous experience in food production, QA, or related functions.
Knowledge of Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP), Good Manufacturing Processes (GMP), and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
Supervisory Responsibility This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment This job operates in a professional manufacturing environment and routinely uses standard office equipment.
