Position Summary:

The Law School's Development and External Relations office is responsible for the cultivation and stewardship of the school's relationship with donors, alumni and other supporters. Working under the direction of the school's Events Manager, the Events Assistant will aid in the planning and execution of all UCI Law events. The incumbent will support the conception, planning, budgeting, and staging at a quality level commensurate with a top-tier national professional school. While reporting directly to the Events Manager, the Events Assistant will also provide event support for UCI Law's academic centers' staff in the planning and execution of conferences, meetings, and other activities. The incumbent will be responsible for processing and tracking the department's reimbursements and invoices using the university's accounting system. This position will also be working with and directing tasks for student workers.

The expected pay range for this recruitment is $26.00 - $29.00 (Hourly Rate). The Full Salary Range for the salary grade this position is assigned to is $24.71 - $41.86 (Hourly Rate).

Required:
  • 1-2 years experience in relative administration and/or events experience. 2-3 years experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training.
  • Must possess a valid California Driver License and participate in the DMV Pull Notice Program.
  • Organizational skills to effectively coordinate and track multiple details.
  • Written and interpersonal communications skills, including tact and political acumen, and skill in effectively representing the campus to its publics.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills to effectively support team priorities.
  • Ability to complete simple tasks with established deadlines; attention to detail.

Preferred:
  • Knowledge of concepts and principles of effective event planning and production and public relations.
  • Basic knowledge of the campus, its mission, vision, goals, objectives, achievements and infrastructure.
  • With training, ability to use computers and computer software appropriate to work tasks, including the university's accounting system.
  • Experienced in basic to intermediate graphic design for the purpose of creating event collateral such invitations, emails, registration portals, and familiarity with relevant platforms (Canva, Constant Contact, Photoshop, InDesign, etc.)
Special Conditions Required:
  • May work occasional evenings and weekends.
  • May be required to drive on occasion to perform the routine or essential job responsibilities for the position.
