The Program Manager is self-motived and works independently with minimal supervision to tend to innumerable details while maintaining focus on the end result under the general direction of the Administrative Director and Associate Dean. Independent decisions made by the Program Manager have a direct impact on all aspects of the course(s) under their management as well as on the Center for Continuing Professional Development both generally and financially. Instructions and feedback may be given to the Program Manager from a variety of stakeholders with varying degrees of experience and knowledge about the specific course, its goals, and the necessity of adhering to university and accrediting body policies and procedures.

Annual salary range: $64,800.00 - $137,600.00

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's or degree in a related area and/or equivalent experience/training (at least 3 years in event or CME coordination).
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage high volume complex high-profile projects and programs concurrently at various stages, with the ability to effectively prioritize deliverables and commitments.
  • Ability to effectively work with invited guests, donors, government officials, and university VIPs with decorum.
  • Demonstrated organizational and project management skills to work successfully with clients to produce high-quality events that meet client needs and appropriately represent the campus; that is, for fundraising events, skills to provide excellent donor stewardship.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with diverse populations with competing priorities.
  • Highly developed judgment, decision-making, and problem recognition/avoidance/resolution skills, including skill in determining those issues/problems that need to be brought to management's attention.
  • Highly developed skills at producing in-person, live streaming/virtual, and hybrid events and the ability to be creative in event design solutions.
  • Skill in effectively meeting budget and time constraints.
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of concepts, principles and practices of event planning and public relations, including event design, organization and production.
  • Must be accustomed to, or willing to maintain, a flexible, irregular work schedule, including nights, weekends, hotel stays, and out-of-town travel.
